Tuesday, November 7, election day, noon - 1 pm eastern on Zoom - Rabbi Debra will once again lead the (Virtual) Positive Psychology Hour for the Marlene Meyerson JCC and the WholeBeing Institute. Her topic will be: “Real Hope: Modern Science, Ancient Wisdom, and Newfound, Authentic Hope.”
With many people in despair over political divides, disinformation, and potential disaster, Election Day is a good time to focus on hope! Rabbi Debra Orenstein will help us better understand what hope truly is and how it is different from wishing for the best, positive thinking, or optimism. She will draw on the Bible, other spiritual wisdom, and Positive Psychology to introduce a new and more complete understanding of hope. True hope provides comfort and motivation – whether circumstances and future predictions are rosy or bleak. Learn this new paradigm and the simple steps that each of us can take in order to raise our positive expectations and create a brighter future.
The event is pay-what-you-will. For registration information and the Zoom link, contact boxoffice@mmjccm.org.
Rabbi Debra’s home synagogue, Congregation B’nai Israel in Emerson, NJ is open to visitors for services, adult education, and other programs. Many events are again in person and others will meet via Zoom. Contact asst@bisrael.com to be on the mailing list or to let us know of your interest in upcoming classes and events.
